Vocabulary:
- Theoretical framework- The theoretical framework is the structure that can hold or support a theory of a research study. The theoretical framework introduces and describes the theory that explains why the research problem under study exists
- Critique- a detailed analysis and assessment of something, especially a literary, philosophical, or political theory.
- ‘Reading’- a particular interpretation of a text or situation.
- Analysis- detailed examination of the elements or structure of something.
- Hypothesis- a supposition or proposed explanation made on the basis of limited evidence as a starting point for further investigation.
- Synthesis- the combination of components or elements to form a connected whole
Terry Eagleton said ‘There is no reading of a work which is also a re-writing’ this means that everything can always be interpreted differently by the reader.
Visual communication is exploring the idea that a visual message, with or without accompanying audio or text, has the power to inform, educate, or persuade a viewer. It’s the conveyance of ideas and information in forms that can be read or viewed.

50s advertisement- make the product look nice, artists spend time doing realistic paintings and drawings of product, but nothing in your face because there was only one go to brand for a product. These days products have to compete for popularity because there are so many different brands for the same product, they do this through good packaging and clever advertisements.
